On April 18, 2014, Ibaraki Airport celebrated the launch of Skymark Airlines\u2019 maiden flights from Nagoya and Fukuoka to Ibaraki. An inauguration ceremony was held at the terminal building and representatives from Ibaraki Prefecture, including the Vice Governors, welcomed each goodwill ambassador from Fukuoka and Nagoya.\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Comment from Vice Governor Yamaguchi About the Nogoya Service<\/h3>\r\n

\u201cNow the flights connect Ibaraki and Nagoya in an hour. Nagoya used to be a place so close and yet so far away, but it is so close now. I hope many people will utilize the Nagoya flights and that the exchange between Aichi Prefecture and Ibaraki Prefecture will continue to grow in the future.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

\u201cIbaraki \u2013 Fukuoka flights have been long-awaited by many residents in Ibaraki. There is a business and leisure demand not only in Ibaraki Prefecture but also in the Northern Kanto Area (North of Tokyo).
